Men's hair trends 2009 - Fringe

Regency hair style from Burberry Prorsum's Men's Spring/Summer 2009Women's and men's fashion seems to go hand in hand, no surprise then that fringe will be a massive trend in 2009 men's hair styles! But don't worry guys - men's fringe comes in variety of lengths and shapes so you won't end up all looking like Kate Moss :)
The look:While the back end the sides stay neatly trimmed, the fringe should be longer, even eye-brow length. We like it best side swept, with layered detail.This textured hair style, with its longer fringe, is the 2009 incarnation of the 'Caesar cut', named after the hair style Roman dictator perpetuus Julius Caesar. To achieve this effect try using a matte wax or a pomade to create the rugged texture.

men's hair trends 2009We have seen it all, let's face it. Every season designers are trying to reinvent the wheel but they won't full Hair Craft!
Last season we have witnessed revival of the 60's Rockabilly hairstyle. In 2009 it looks like we are going even further back in time: to 19th century Britain! What does it mean? Return of classic cut with modern influence.
Three big trends in men's hairstyles 2009 are:
1.fringe in variety of lengths and shapes;
2.side parting a la Carry Grant;
3.slick back - think George Clooney.

And for the daring - platinum blonde as a must-have colour!

In next few days I will go through men's hair trends for 2009 in detail so watch this space!

Jared-Leto-Men-hairstyle-bobIf you believed that bob hairstyle is reserved for the women only, think twice! Some of the hottest men out there are getting their locks sheared, shaped and flat-ironed into the feminine flip!
"Men-Bob" is a perfect look for those guys who don’t like the short look. This hairstyle is good for hair that is medium to thick in texture and works well with straight or wavy hair. This men’s haircut is simply a longer version of the classic men’s cut with the layers remaining longer all around the head.
The sides and back are also left longer to blend with the top. The bangs in this style are usually a full bang that sits on the forehead but are slightly swept to one side. A side part works best with this men’s hair cut. To style, use gel or a shape creator on damp hair and blow dry your hair while styling it with your fingers. The key to this hairstyle is to give it a slightly messy appearance. You want to avoid a structured look so use your hands to style instead of a brush.
If your hair tends to poof a lot when blowdried, only dry hair until it is still slightly damp. Let it dry naturally the rest of the way.

Men's hairstyle 2008 - surfer hair

surfer hair
Let's follow up on holiday theme - today something for men - surfer hairstyle.
This is a great look on guys with naturally straight hair as well with natural waves. The key to achieving this look is great texturing - make sure that your hairdresser is not using texturing scissors!
This hairstyle requires a lot of "chopping" in order to achieve the very light, effortless effect. To add "just-out-of-water" look, use products made for the job - companies like Bumble and Bumble and Garnier have created ranges of hair products dedicated to styling surfer hair.Try Bumble and Bumble surf spray - it contains traces of salt to give your hair matte finish and strong hold.

Dave GrohlIs this the best haircut in "Rock" category, or what? Beard, long, layered, wavy hair...For all the guys out there, wondering what to do with their hair, how to look cool etc - here is the answer: go for Grohl!
(Mind you, my taste when it comes to men's hairstyles is distorted - the effect of everlong relationship with a certain hairy fellow...and Foo Fighters concert :))!

Casey Affleck I realised that in past months I had been completely ignoring men! Well, at least when it comes to haircuts ;) in order to come clean I did some research and here they are: 3 most popular spring/summer 2008 men hairstyle trends!

1. Classic cut. This one will not get you in trouble if you work in a conservative office, but you should get a good barber pronto! You can were it super tidy, like James Bond, or go for a bit more messy "I just got up" look, like Casey Affleck, if you leave the top a bit longer and style it with your fingers rather then a comb. Great look for guys with oval or diamond faces.

2. Surfer hairstyle or wavy natural. If you always wanted to grow long hair but wasn't sure if you can pull it off without joining the folk group your time has come! Brad PittLong hair is back with a vengeance! Shoulder long or hanging down to waist, wavy or straight, pony tail...or not - we love this look! One rule though: split ends are not sexy and even though you are going for messy look, your hair should be well conditioned. This hairstyle goes well with square faces as well as more delicate features.

3. Medium length hairstyle . If you can't make up your mind between short or long or you dislike extremes go for safe medium. This spring and summer we like it voluminous and with a lot of texture but looking natural so put away all the gels. Think: mousse and pomades. Look at Brad Pitt's picture - that's a great example of medium hair!

New haircut is a great way of changing your style, so choose it carefully. Hope you found this article helpful!
